Hearing and balance are primary functions of the ear. Ear consist mainly three parts, outer ear, inner ear and middle ear. The ear is not just an organ for hearing, it is also connected to the balance system. This is a complex system; sending signals to the brain to maintain the balance of the head and body in different movements and positions. This system is interlinking with the cerebellum and visual pathways to maintain linear and angular motion.

There are five main symptoms disrupts hearing and balance – which include otalgia (ear pain), otorrhea (ear discharge), hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing) and dizziness.
